Backup Watcher for MySQL

Pogram Backup Watcher for MySQL is intended to make database backups of the MySQL server. Archiving can be done on a local computer as well as on a remote server in the Internet even if your data are behind the firewall.

The program has the built-in and easily customized scheduler, thanks to which it is now possible not only to carry out "manual" backup but also to customize the scheduler so that the program would automatically carry out the backup of the specified databases daily, weekly, monthly or once on the established time. This gives an opportunity to restore the information, which was lost because of the user's wrong actions or machine failure, namely:

• breakdown of the computer, on which the database is kept, which caused its full loss;
• stealing of the computer, on which the database is kept;
• actions of the user (who works with the computer, on which the database is kept), which caused full or partial data loss.

After the installation the Backup Watcher for MySQL places its icon into the System tray, and during the minimization of the main form "removes" itself from the taskbar of Windows. It is very convenient, especially if the program is used on the server as the agent, which is constantly started, and in certain time and with the established frequency carries out backup.

All adjustments of the program are saved automatically into the INI-file and are restored at the next launch. That's why, in the case when it is necessary to use the program for the regular carrying out of the backup of all or several databases it is recommended (having adjusted the scheduler beforehand) to launch the utility either together with the MySQL server or when launching Windows (having placed the icon of the program into the folder Autostart).

Backup Watcher for MySQL works with your data with the help of profiles. You can create any number of profiles to make data backup more effective. All created profiles will be shown in the list of profiles, which is situated on the main form of the program. Every profile contains the main following data:

• Profile name
• MySQL server parameters
• Local or Remote MySQL backup of a database
• Databases for backup
• Location of the backup copies
• Compression scheme
• Profile schedule

The program also provides an opportunity of archiving backup files after carrying out the backup.

This will allow to reduce considerably the place on a hard disk, occupied by these files. Archiving can be carried out with the help of any external archive program, which is available (RAR, ZIP, ARJ and so on).

The result of work of the program is the SQL-script, which contains everything necessary for the full restoring of the database to the condition, which was at the moment of the carrying out of backup.
